ACCDiS is a research center in priority areas of the FONDAP initiative of the National Agency for Research and Development ANID, composed of academics from the University of Chile and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. It aims to understand and prevent chronic noncommunicable diseases, with particular emphasis on the study of cancer and cardiovascular disease.
One of the main missions of ACCDiS is to be a national and international reference in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research in chronic diseases. For this purpose, the Third Innovation Contest in Chronic Diseases is convened to support the selected teams in their presentation to applied science competitions, of the FONDEF IDeA I&D type of ANID. This Innovation Competition is aimed at associate researchers, Collaborators and Postdocs that frame their proposals in some of the lines of research of the Center:
- Metabolic signaling in heart failure
- Biomarkers of gender differences in heart failure
- Tumor cell biology and inflammation
- Epigenomic landscapes in gastric cancer
- Gallbladder cancer natural history
- Nanomedicine and chemistry science for the diagnosis and therapy of cancer and cardiovascular diseases
- Mechanisms associated with metabolically healthy and unhealthy obesity: Role of inflammation and communication mediated by extracellular vesicles
PRIZE
4 projects will be selected, who will receive professional advice to strengthen the project from their strategy, editorial staff, Market research, Uploading to the contest website, economic/social impact and the search and management with associated companies (by the company ematris consultores SpA. www.ematris.cl), in order to increase the possibilities of awarding the tender type FONDEF IDeA I+D of ANID. Within the framework of an application to the IDEA I+D Competition, this includes writing Economic Impact Chapter 2, Scientific Chapter Review, and support in finding partner institutions (enterprises) for applications. The selection criteria are set out below.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Fill out and send a complete application project profile to comunicaciones@accdis.cl and jbustamante@ematris.cl.
- Attend an interview with the evaluation team (date will be informed after receiving the project profiles)
- Letter of commitment to participation signed by all participants of the Project.
EXPECTED RESULTS
- Letter of commitment to apply for an eligible competition.
- Submission of application to the FONDEF IDeA 2024 contest or related contest, during 2023 or 2024.
