Request to declare an oncology emergency in Antofagasta due to alarming mortality rates

The Antofagasta region faces a harsh reality with almost 135 deaths from cancer per 100,000 inhabitants, placing it as the area with the highest mortality rate in Chile.

The high mortality rate is mainly concentrated in cancers of:

- Bronchi.
- Lung.
